A stay alternating hiking and cultural visits to discover the best of Serbia.

Day 1: Arrival in Belgrade

Meeting with the guide at the airport or at the station, transfer to the hotel in Belgrade. Depending on your arrival times, you can freely visit the city. After the introductory briefing you have free dinner, then you can find a nice place for that first night in the capital.

Day 2: Visit of Belgrade; medieval adventure in the heart of Serbia - the Maglič fortress

Guided tour of the capital of Serbia with a dynamic overview of history and culture. Lunch in the city.
The transfer to the south of the country and the heart of medieval Serbia (around 2:45 drive). First stroll to the Maglič fortress with a view of the Ibar river valley.
Continue to Studenica monastery (half an hour drive).
Accommodation in the rooms at the monastic complex for one night. Dinner in the accommodation.

Day 3: Studenica Monastery, the pearl of Orthodox architecture

Visit one of the most beautiful Serbian monasteries listed as World Heritage by Unesco with a refined architecture, the fortified walls that surround the two churches, the frescoes dating from the 13th century, all in a natural and peaceful environment.
Hike to the chapel and the cave of St. Sava through a beautiful oak forest from where you will enjoy a very beautiful view at the valley of the Studenica river. Lunch picnics in nature.
Continuation to the town Novi Pazar where we will see that in Serbia, in only an hour's drive, the decor changes completely - from an Orthodox monastery you arrive in an oriental atmosphere. Here we will have a coffee break.
The road leads us to Zlatar mountain (2h).
Installation at the hotel for two nights.

Day 4: The millennial meanders of Uvac and the visit of an ice cave

After a short transfer, we arrive at the edge of Lake Uvac. Boat trip in the lake and through famous meanders. We will refresh ourselves by visiting the ice cave where it is 8 ° all year round (possibility of swimming in the summer months).
Hike to the essential viewpoint! With a little luck, we will see the vultures gracefully flying over the meanders, one of the rare places where we see them at large. Return by another path through the nature reserve. Coffee break in a camp by the lake before taking the car. Return to accommodation.
The end of the day is reserved for an aperitif and dinner with the locals! We will have the opportunity to see how they produce the famous Zlatar cheese and to taste it too.

Day 5: Hiking in the Mileševka canyon

After a short transfer, we start the longest hike in the program. The beginning is at the heart of the Zlatar mountain (1625m), all covered with conifers to which it owes its name. Then, we follow the canyon of the Mileševka river and going down we will see the change of the landscape. We end the hike to the Mileševa monastery, another pearl of medieval architecture that keeps one of the most beautiful frescoes in the world!
After the visit and rest at the monastery complex, transfer to Mokra Gora.

Day 6: Tara National Park

Visit the Mećavnik village built by the famous director - Emir Kusturica. It is a true paradise for artists from the world of cinematography, the unusual place hidden in a peaceful landscape that welcomes the stars of world cinema every winter during the Kustendorf festival.
Transfer to the starting point (50 minutes) in the Tara national park located in the west of Serbia, dense in forest sheltering botanical rarities. Loop hike through the park where you can breathe fresh air and admire some beautiful views of the Drina River and Lake Perućac.
Transfer to Sirogojno village where we settle for one night.

Day 7: The old village Sirogojno - open air museum

Visit this charming old village, organized around a small church surrounded by many wooden houses characteristic of the traditional habitat of the Zlatibor region. The museum preserves the trades and activities of the past. The talent of women who knit has been recognized and classified on the list of cultural monuments of Serbia.
In the afternoon, we will do our last light hike in the mountain of Kablar to reach a viewpoint on the valley of the Zapadna Morava river.
Arrival in Belgrade, installation at the hotel. The last dinner together in the bohemian district of Belgrade - Skadarlija.

Day 8: Return

Transfer to the airport or the train station.
