D1 - Antananarivo
Reception at the airport + transfer to the hotel
D2 - Antananarivo - Manandona
190km of Rn = 4h30
Visit of the Dieudonné tinsmith to understand how to go from dream to reality. Departure to take the national road 7 with its rice fields and terraced houses. Arrival near Antsirabe at our hosts from the MATOR association.
D3 - Massif de l'Ibity
Trek: +/-: 800/800 m / 18 km
Trekking day in the middle of a surprising scenery. Between crossing the village, rice fields, streams and mountains, it will not be monotonous! The view at the summit offers a superb 360 ° panorama.
D4 - Manandona - Ambalavao
Route: 282km = 6h30
Road to Ambalavo with two breaks:
- Ambositra in order to meet the inlay craftsmen.
- Fianarantsoa to visit the studio of the photographer Pierrot Men
D5 - Ambalavao - P.N. Andringitra
Track: 35km (3h). Trek: +/-: 850 / 50m / 12km (4h)
4x4 transfer to the start of the hike at the entrance to the national park. Walk in the undergrowth then in the plain to get closer to the granite massif.
D6 - Andringitra National Park
Trek: +/-: 750 / 1070m / 17km (6h)
Departure at 5 am for the ascent of the Boby peak, the second highest peak in Madagascar. Mineral atmosphere guaranteed! Arrival at the Iantaranomby camp, with a view of the Tsaranoro valley.
D7 - P.N Andringitra - Tsaranoro Valley
Trek: +/-: 650 / 1100m / 17km (6h)
Descent from the national park to find the valley to admire the magnificent walls of the massif. Then relatively difficult climb of Mont Caméléon but which offers a superb view. Possibility of seeing lemurs during the descent. Arrival at the ecolodge.
D8 - Tsaranoro Valley
Trek: +/-: 1200 / 1200m / 13.5km
Great tour of Tsaranoro with its 800m walls to reach the top of Karambony. A little technical descent on a ridge close to a cliff guaranteeing extraordinary views. * Option: ascent of Tsaranoro (1950m). *
D9- Tsarasoa - Ranohira
Track: 25 km. Route: 200 km (4h30)
The great plains of the south and the doors of the sun offer themselves in spectacle until the plateau of Ihorombe where appears the city of Ranohira. On the way, stop at a ring-tailed lemur refuge.
D10 - Ranohira
Trek: +/-: 350 / 350m / 15km (6h)
Hiking in the Isalo national park nicknamed "the Madagascan Colorado": it is a unique ecological representation within the Madagascar National Parks network: a ruiniform massif of continental sandstone dating from the Jurassic period with its typical geomorphology and its endemic rupicolous vegetation ( Aloes, Euphorbias, Pachypods, Kalanchoe…) and the specific fauna of this exceptional habitat (rock reptiles, the vast majority of which are endemic, chameleons and lemurs). Possibility of swimming in a natural swimming pool or walking in the bottom of the canyon in the middle of lush vegetation.
D11 - Ranohira - Sarodrano
Track: 45min. Route: 276 kms (6h)
Drive through the desert plains before seeing the first baobabs and the banks of the Mozambique Channel. A few km of slopes to arrive next to Sarodrano.
D12 - Sarodrano
Hiking: +/-: 120 / 120m / 5km. Canoe (2h30)
Visit and walk: fishing village, bay of St Augustin, ascent by pirogue in the mangrove with its pink flamingos. Return to the village of St Augustin.
D13: Sarodrano - Antananarivo
Transfer to Tulear airport for the domestic flight.
Reception at the airport and transfer to a guest room then transfer to the international airport
