D1 - Tana

Reception at the airport + transfer to the hotel

D2 - Tana - Manjakatompoko

70km of Rn / 15km of track = 2h30
Visit the tinsmith of Dieudonné to understand how to go from dream to reality. Departure to take the national road 7 with its rice fields and terraced houses. Stop at the traditional aluminum foundries before taking the track.

D3 - Manjakatompoko - Summit - bivouac

+/-: 1280/700 m / 20 km
Trekking day in the middle of a surprising setting. Between crossing the village, rice fields, streams and mountains, it will not be monotonous. After lunch, departure for the 3rd summit of Mada (2643m) before descending to bivouac at 2100m.

D4 - Bivouac - Manjakatompoko - Ambositra

Trek: +/-: 180 / 850m / 10 km. Road: 15km of track and 200km of Rn (5h)
Overview of the valley at dawn before the descent to Manjakatompoko. Crossing hamlets. Picnic in the village. Back on the track then Rn7 to Antsirabe then Ambositra.

D5 - Ambositra - Antoetra - Sakaivo

Road: 15km of Rn and 26km of track (2h). Trek: +/-: 460 / 750m / 13.5km
2h drive to Antoetra, start of the hike. This route makes you understand the difficulties encountered by the inhabitants of these regions. Meeting with a responsible of the village of Sakaivo and visit of the village.

D6 - Sakaivo - Antoetra - Ranomafana

Trek: +/-: 450 / 150m / 8km. Road: 115km of Rn and 26km of track (5h)
688 steps await us before reaching the Belvedere. End of the hike and return to Antoetra. Picnic. Back on the track in 4x4 then Rn7 to Ranomafana located in the heart of the primary forests of the East.

D7 - Ranomafana - Ambalavao

Road: 120km (4h)
58 species of reptiles, 98 species of amphibians, 115 of the 257 species of birds of Madagascar, the majority of which are endemic. 12 species of lemurs, 7 species of carnivorous mammals and a flora unique in the world: this is the spectacle that Ranomafana National Park can offer! Departure to the town of Fianarantsoa, ​​then that of Ambalavao where we will sleep. The landscapes of the great Madagascan south and the granite walls of the Andringitra massif are waiting for you.

D8 - Ambalavao - Camp 3

Track: 40km (3h). Trek: +/-: 860 / 200m / 12.5km
Andringitra National Park. Hike in the heart of the park. Mainly from the climb to camp N ° 3 at 2050m at the foot of majestic granite walls.

D9 - Camp 3 - Boby - Tsarasoa

Trek: +/-: 570 / 1700m / 26km
Departure very early for the 2nd summit of Madagascar: The Boby peak (2658m). 2h30 climb. 360 ° view of the surroundings and overview of the Tsaranoro valley to the west. Then 20km of descent between steps, path, stream and arrival in Morarano where 4x4s await.

D10- Tsarasoa - Ranohira

The sunrise on the walls of Tsaranoro is a magical moment of this stage. Back on the road after 25km of track (2h). The great plains of the south and the gates of the sun offer themselves as a spectacle up to the plateau of Ihorombe where the city of Ranohira appears.

D11 - Isalo

Hike in the Isalo national park nicknamed "Colorado Malagasy": it is a unique ecological representation within the Madagascar National Parks network: a massive ruiniform continental sandstone dating from the Jurassic with its typical geomorphology and endemic rupicolous vegetation ( Aloes, Euphorbia, Pachypodes, Kalanchoe ...) and the specific fauna of this exceptional habitat (rock reptiles, the vast majority of which are endemic, chameleons and lemurs). Possibility to swim in a natural pool or walk at the bottom of the canyon in the middle of lush vegetation.

D12 - Ranohira - Sarodrano

Descent due west with a stop in the mining town of Ilakaka. Visit and meet with sapphire researchers. The route continues with the first baobabs and the banks of the Mozambique Channel. A few km of tracks to arrive near Sarodrano.

D13 - Sarodrano

Visit and stroll: fishing village, St Augustin bay, up river by canoe.

D14: Sarodrano - Tulear - Tana

Transfer to Tulear airport for the domestic flight.
Reception at the airport and transfer to a guest room.

D15 - Return

Transfer to the international airport
